by Sormista Pal

In a small house at the edge of a quiet village lived a little girl named Rusha.

Rusha loved to play, laugh, and explore. But more than anything, she loved her mom.

Every morning, before the sun even came up, her mom was already awake. She packed Rusha’s lunch, ironed her uniform, and gently woke her up.

“Time to rise, my little star,” she would whisper with a smile.

One day at school, Rusha heard a story about angels.

As soon as she got home, she ran inside.

“Mum! Mum! Do angels really exist?” she asked, her eyes wide with curiosity.

Her mom smiled. “Some people believe they do.”

Rusha frowned a little. “But I’ve never seen one.”

That night, as she lay in bed, Rusha closed her eyes and whispered,
“I wish I could see an angel.”

The next morning, she woke up earlier than usual.

She quietly walked to the kitchen and saw her mom standing there. She looked a little tired, but she was humming softly while making Rusha’s favorite breakfast.

Rusha watched quietly… then went back to her room.

Later that day, Rusha fell while playing outside and scraped her knee.

Tears filled her eyes.

Her mom rushed over right away, cleaned the cut, and wrapped her arms around her.

“It’s okay. I’m here,” she said, kissing her forehead.

That evening, the power suddenly went out.

The house went dark.

Rusha felt scared.

But her mom lit a candle and sat beside her, telling silly stories until Rusha forgot she was afraid and started giggling.

As the days went by, Rusha began to notice more things.

Her mom always gave her the last piece of cake.
She stayed up all night when Rusha was sick.
And somehow… her hugs always made everything feel safe again.

One night, as her mom tucked her into bed, Rusha looked at her carefully.

“Mum,” she said softly, “I think I’ve seen an angel.”

Her mom paused. “Oh? Where?”

Rusha smiled and held her hand.

“Right here,” she said. “You don’t have wings like in stories… but you take care of me, protect me, and love me no matter what.”

She squeezed her hand a little tighter.

“That’s what angels do, right?”

For a moment, her mom didn’t say anything.

Then she smiled, her eyes shining.

“Yes, my dear… I think you’re right.”

Rusha hugged her tightly.

That night, she didn’t make a wish.

Because she already had what she was looking for.

💛 Message for Kids

Mothers may not have wings you can see, but their love, care, and kindness make them real-life angels.
