Listen to “The Secret Garden of Easter Eggs” on Spreaker.

On a bright spring morning, Emily and Daniel were getting ready for the town’s big Easter egg hunt. The sun was shining, birds were singing, and the smell of fresh flowers filled the air.

“Last one outside is a sleepy turtle!” Daniel shouted as he ran through the yard.

Emily laughed and chased after him. They searched under bushes, behind trees, and near the flower beds for colorful eggs.

Suddenly, Daniel stopped.

“Emily… look at this.”

Behind a tall hedge was something they had never seen before—a small wooden gate covered in vines and tiny pink flowers.

“That gate wasn’t here yesterday,” Emily said.

Daniel gently pushed it open.

Creeeak.

The gate slowly swung open, revealing a path glowing with soft golden light.

“Should we go inside?” Daniel whispered.

Emily nodded.

They stepped through the gate and gasped.

Inside was the most magical garden they had ever seen.

Tall trees were covered with colorful Easter eggs instead of fruit. Some eggs sparkled like jewels. Others glowed softly like tiny lanterns. Butterflies fluttered everywhere, and a gentle breeze carried the sweet smell of chocolate.

“Are those… eggs growing on trees?” Daniel asked.

Emily walked closer and carefully touched one.

“It’s warm!” she said.

Suddenly, a small voice spoke.

“Welcome, travelers.”

The children looked around but didn’t see anyone.

Then a tiny white rabbit wearing a blue vest hopped onto a rock.

“I am Oliver, the Keeper of the Easter Garden,” the rabbit said with a polite bow.

Daniel blinked in surprise.

“A talking rabbit!”

Oliver smiled.

“This garden grows the magical eggs that bring joy to children every Easter. But the garden is losing its magic.”

Emily frowned.

“What happened?”

Oliver sighed.

“Children are forgetting the true spirit of Easter—kindness, sharing, and helping others. When that happens, the eggs lose their glow.”

The children looked around. Some eggs were bright and shiny, but others looked dull and gray.

“Can we help?” Emily asked.

Oliver nodded.

“To restore the garden, you must solve three Easter riddles.”

Daniel rubbed his hands together.

“We love riddles!”

Oliver lifted a tiny golden bell.

“Here is the first riddle.”

The bell chimed softly.

“I am colorful and bright.
Hidden from sight.
Children search for me with delight.
What am I?”

Daniel thought for a moment.

Emily smiled.

“An Easter egg!”

The bell chimed again, and one of the gray eggs on the tree suddenly turned bright pink.

“Correct,” Oliver said.

The garden seemed a little brighter now.

Oliver rang the bell again.

“Second riddle.”

“I hop and play all day in spring.
Fluffy tail and ears that swing.
I bring eggs on Easter night.
Who am I?”

Daniel laughed.

“That one is easy!”

“The Easter Bunny!” both children shouted.

Another group of gray eggs burst into beautiful colors—blue, yellow, and purple.

The garden sparkled brighter.

Oliver smiled proudly.

“One final riddle remains.”

The rabbit rang the bell for the third time.

“This is something you give away,
Yet it always comes back your way.
It makes the world bright and true.
What is it?”

The children thought quietly.

Then Emily said softly, “Kindness.”

The bell rang louder than before.

Suddenly, every egg in the garden glowed with brilliant color. The trees shimmered like rainbows.

Butterflies swirled through the air, and flowers opened all at once.

“You did it!” Oliver cheered.

“The Easter Garden is saved!”

A golden egg gently floated down from one of the trees and landed in Emily’s hands.

“This egg is special,” Oliver said. “Whenever someone shows kindness, it will glow.”

Daniel smiled.

“We’ll make sure it stays bright.”

Oliver opened the garden gate again.

“It is time for you to return.”

The children stepped back through the gate.

When they turned around, the magical garden was gone. Only the tall hedge remained.

Daniel looked at Emily.

“Do you think it was real?”

Emily opened her hand.

The golden egg glowed softly in the morning sunlight.

She smiled.

“I think Easter magic is very real.”

And that year, Emily and Daniel made sure to share their candy, help their neighbors, and spread kindness everywhere they went.

And the golden egg never stopped glowing.

The End!
