By Sormista Pal

Hello there!

I’m Cookie—yes, that Cookie! Crunchy on the outside, soft on the inside, and full of tasty stories. Today, I want to tell you how I traveled from long ago all the way to your snack plate.

Long, long ago, before kitchens had ovens and timers, I wasn’t even called a cookie. I was just a tiny piece of dough. In ancient lands like Persia, bakers baked small bits of dough to test their ovens. Those little bites turned golden and yummy. That’s when I first thought, “Hey, I might be something special!”

As the years rolled by, I went on many adventures. I crossed deserts and seas. In medieval Europe, I became a crunchy biscuit. Kings and queens enjoyed me with tea. Travelers carried me on long trips because I stayed fresh for many days. I felt proud—small, but strong!

Then one exciting day, I sailed to America. That was a big adventure! There, I got a new name—Cookie. The word came from the Dutch word koekje, which means “little cake.” Bakers started adding butter, sugar, nuts, and—oh my crumbs—chocolate chips! When chocolate melted into me for the first time, I knew I had found my best friend.

Soon, kitchens were filled with warm, sweet cookie smells. Children waited by ovens, counting the minutes. I became round, star-shaped, smiley-faced, and even shaped like animals! Sometimes I was dunked in milk. Sometimes I was packed in lunchboxes. Wherever I went, I brought smiles.

As time passed, I changed even more. I became healthier too. Some cookies were made with oats, honey, fruits, and lots of love. Today, I come in many flavors and colors. I am baked in homes, bakeries, and even imagined in fun storybooks like this one!

But do you know something important?

No matter how much I changed, one thing stayed the same—I was always made to bring happiness. Whether I was a tiny test bite or a big chocolate-chip treat, I was baked with care.

Now, when you hold me in your hand, remember my long journey. I have traveled through time just to make you smile.

Sweet Message

Just like Cookie, you will grow and learn new things. You will change in many ways. But always remember—no matter where life takes you, stay warm, kind, and sweet inside. That is what truly makes you special.
