Once upon a time, there was a kind girl named Cinderella.

She lived in a big house with her stepmother and two stepsisters. But even though the house was large, Cinderella’s life was not happy. Her stepmother made her do all the chores—cleaning, cooking, and washing—while her stepsisters relaxed and wore beautiful clothes.

Cinderella wore simple clothes and often had dust on her hands, but she never complained. No matter how hard her days were, she stayed kind and gentle.

One day, exciting news arrived.

The king was hosting a grand ball at the palace! Everyone in the kingdom was invited. The prince would be there, and it was said he was looking for someone special.

Cinderella’s stepsisters were thrilled. They tried on fancy dresses, sparkling shoes, and bright ribbons. Cinderella helped them get ready, even though she wished she could go too.

“Please, may I come with you?” Cinderella asked softly.

Her stepmother laughed. “You? Go to the ball? You don’t even have a proper dress!”

Cinderella watched sadly as they left without her.

She sat down and began to cry.

Suddenly, a warm voice said, “Why are you crying, my dear?”

Cinderella looked up and saw a kind old woman—her fairy godmother!

“I wish I could go to the ball,” Cinderella said, “but I have nothing to wear.”

“Don’t worry,” the fairy godmother smiled. “I will help you.”

With a wave of her wand—poof!—Cinderella’s old dress turned into a beautiful gown that sparkled like the stars. Her worn-out shoes became shining glass slippers. A pumpkin turned into a grand carriage, and mice became horses!

Cinderella couldn’t believe her eyes.

“But remember,” said the fairy godmother, “everything will return to normal at midnight. You must leave before then.”

Cinderella promised and hurried to the ball.

At the palace, everyone stopped and stared as she entered. She looked like a princess!

The prince saw her and walked over right away. They danced together, laughed, and talked all night. Cinderella felt happier than she ever had before.

But suddenly—

Dong! Dong! Dong!

The clock began to strike midnight!

“Oh no!” Cinderella gasped.

She quickly ran out of the palace. As she hurried down the steps, one of her glass slippers slipped off her foot—but she didn’t stop to pick it up.

She rushed into her carriage just in time. As the clock struck twelve, everything turned back into what it was before. The carriage became a pumpkin again, and her beautiful gown turned back into her old dress.

The next day, the prince searched the entire kingdom for the mysterious girl.

He only had one clue—the glass slipper.

“Whoever this slipper fits,” he said, “is the one I will marry.”

Many girls tried to wear the slipper, but it didn’t fit anyone.

Finally, the prince came to Cinderella’s house.

Her stepsisters tried first, but their feet were too big.

Cinderella stepped forward.

“May I try?” she asked.

Her stepmother tried to stop her, but it was too late.

Cinderella gently placed her foot into the slipper…

And it fit perfectly!

The prince smiled. “It’s you!”

Cinderella showed the other glass slipper, and everyone was amazed.

Soon after, Cinderella went to the palace—not as a servant, but as a princess. She and the prince were married, and they lived happily ever after.

And even after everything she had been through, Cinderella remained kind, gentle, and full of love.

The End!
