In a quiet little town, there lived a mother named Lily and her son, Lucas.

Their house wasn’t big or fancy, but it was always full of warmth. The kind that came from laughter, bedtime stories, and soft goodnight hugs.

Every night, when Lucas was still very small, Lily would rock him gently before bed. She would hum a simple lullaby and whisper,
“I’ll love you forever, I’ll like you for always, as long as I’m living, my baby you’ll be.”

Lucas didn’t understand the words yet—but he felt them.

As Lucas grew, the house grew louder. There were toys on the floor, muddy shoes by the door, and endless questions about everything.

“Why is the sky blue?”
“Where do birds sleep?”
“Can I stay up just a little longer?”

Lily answered what she could, laughed when she couldn’t, and tucked him in every night just the same.

“I’ll love you forever…”

One sunny afternoon, Lucas decided he could ride his bike without help. He wobbled, pedaled fast, and then—thump!

He fell right onto the grass.

For a moment, he wanted to cry.

But Lily ran over, brushed off his knees, and said, “Try again. I’m right here.”

So Lucas tried again.

And this time, he rode a little farther.

That night, as Lily tucked him in, she smiled and whispered the same words.

Years passed.

Lucas went to school, made friends, and brought home drawings full of bright colors and crooked shapes. Some days were easy, and some were not.

One day, he came home quiet and upset.

“I don’t think I’m good at anything,” he said.

Lily sat beside him and gently squeezed his hand. “You don’t have to be the best,” she said. “Just keep trying. That’s how you grow.”

Lucas didn’t feel better right away—but he remembered her words.

And little by little, he kept trying.

As time went on, Lucas grew taller. He laughed louder, stayed out longer, and didn’t always need help tying his shoes or packing his bag.

Lily still watched from the doorway sometimes, smiling—but a little quieter now.

One evening, Lucas packed a small bag.

He was ready to leave home and follow his own path.

Lily helped him fold his clothes. She didn’t say much—but when it was time to say goodbye, she hugged him tightly.

“I’ll love you forever…” she whispered again.

Lucas nodded, even though his throat felt tight.

Life moved on.

Lucas grew older, built a life of his own, and chased dreams far from that little house. He worked hard, made mistakes, and learned many things along the way.

But sometimes, late at night, he would remember the soft sound of his mother’s voice and the words she used to say.

And one day, he returned home.

The house looked smaller than he remembered.

Inside, Lily sat quietly in her chair. Her hair was gray now, and her hands moved slower than before.

Lucas walked over and gently held her.

This time, he was the one who whispered,
“I’ll love you forever, I’ll like you for always…”

Lily smiled.

The same words. The same love.

Just passed from one heart to another.

And in that little house, nothing really changed.

Because love like that doesn’t go away.

It just grows.

The End!
